Movable Type

I am moving my weblog to Movable Type. Things are in transition right now, so I’ll be updating both my Blogger site and my new Movable Type site.

Hiatus

I am extending my hiatus to another week. I should be back by Memorial Day.

Movies

While I was up in Jersey, I watched a number of movies.

Far from Heaven is a lacklustre film which did not provide much entertainment or food for thought.

Y tu mamá también (And Your Mother Too) is a Mexican film in Spanish. It is a comedy of the American Pie genre, except it has more sex and more dirty jokes. It is a pointless but entertaining movie.

Cidade de Deus (City of God) is a Brazilian film about youth gangs in the slums of Rio de Janeiro. It is a very good movie. The story line is good and the editing of the film was excellent. It keeps you in its grip the whole time. The topic is obviusly very potent in itself. The treatment is very matter-of-fact with an autobiographical narration by the main character. There is no overdramatiation which could have ruined it. The idea of kids with guns going around committing crimes and shooting people is not shown as something extraordinary. I would recommend this movie to everyone.

I am going to Hell

According to the Dante’s Inferno test, I have been consigned to the seventh level of hell. Few go lower.

The Dante’s Inferno Test has banished you to the Seventh Level of Hell!
Here is how you matched up against all the levels:

Level Score
Purgatory (Repenting Believers) Low
Level 1 – Limbo (Virtuous Non-Believers) Low
Level 2 (Lustful) Moderate
Level 3 (Gluttonous) Moderate
Level 4 (Prodigal and Avaricious) High
Level 5 (Wrathful and Gloomy) Low
Level 6 – The City of Dis (Heretics) Very Low
Level 7 (Violent) High
Level 8- the Malebolge (Fraudulent, Malicious, Panderers) Moderate
Level 9 – Cocytus (Treacherous) Low

Move Complete

I just finished moving into my new apartment. Now I have to unpack everything. It was a hot day in Atlanta today, so moving was tough. Also, I have a lot of stuff, so I had to get a friend to loan me his Grand Cherokee. I filled up the trunk and well as the back seat of the Cherokee and everywhere except the driver’s seat in my Corolla.
