2nd Blogiversary

I started this weblog 2 years ago with a test post on Blogger. However, I didn’t update regularly until November 2002 starting with a photograph of Allatoona Lake.

Things have changed quite a lot in the last two years. From an average of 20-30 visits per day, hits have increased to about 450 visits. I have posted 674 entries and had 2766 comments. I have met two excellent bloggers (Jonathan and Gary) in real life because of this hobby.

The focus of my weblog has expanded as well. When I started out, my plan was to focus on politics, Islam and photography. With our pregnancy, this blog got a lot more personal than I had planned.

As for the future, I think my current frequency of posting (i.e., about once every 2 days) will continue for a while.

I am planning on starting a baby blog as well, like Cerin Amroth by Polytropos. I haven’t decided yet whether to use TextPattern or Wordpress. I like Textpattern, but can’t find a nice way to do restricted posts there.

    Thanks, everyone.

Conrad: Blogging will not only continue with fatherhood, it’ll expand to a 2nd blog devoted to the baby. However, I haven’t decided yet how much of that blog I want to make public.

So, you plan to continue posting every other day, and your readership has expanded by a factor of 20 in 1.5 years. Congratulations!

This should no longer be a free service. With such prolific key punching, you could easily write a book. In fact, we should; I’ll be the silent partner :) Of course, I will help with the title ;)

    Possible Titles:

    1) A Socialist Muslim in America
    - a memoir

    2) There and, ‘I’m not going back again!’; A
    Pakistani Immigrant’s Tale
    - a fine tale of hard work, new hope and
    a dark tower or two.

    3) Leaning Left on the Koran and America
    - a commentary on liberalism and the Koran
in America punctuated by staccato rants
    disparaging the neo-cons

    4) Myopia in the Vision Community
    - a scathing rejoinder to conferences that
rejected the obvious brilliance of your
    work

    And, I’m just getting warmed-up…

Captain Arrrgh: How’s the ranching going? :-)

This should no longer be a free service.

I guess you missed the post about ads.

From a variety of sources, I have earned a grand total of $28 this year from blogging. How’s that?

    1. Should be social democrat.
    2. I like this one.
    3. Too long.
    4. I’ve got a better one: “Stereo Vision and the One-eyed Man.”

Wow, this is impressive not only will blogging continue but it will be expanded!!! I can just see a picture some years from now (obviously quite a few) when the youngster will be bringing home his/her date and you can suitably embarrass the kid by whipping out these old baby blogs LOL !!!
