عید مبارک

تمام قارئین کو عید الفطر مبارک ہو۔

A happy Eid to everyone.

No, I have no idea why Eid is on Saturday in Atlanta when the rest of the US is celebrating it on Sunday.

And happy Diwali too.

  1. عید مبارک زکریا بھائی۔

اور مجھے بھی نہیں پتا کہ یوکے اور اٹلی میں ہفتے کو عید ہونے کے باوجود جرمنی میں اتوار کو کیوں ہے؟ 🙂

  2. salaam

Eid mubarak. Have a blessed day.

Same over here; a bit of a “shock” as to why Eid is today. Some are holding it tomorrow. But then again we Muslims to declare that our “religion and politics” are not separated…

  3. Eid Mubarak to all.The same confusion in Toronto too. Some of us celebrated Eid today and the rest will tomorrow.

    Allah knows best

  4. Assalamo alaykum w.w!

Very happy Eid to you, amber and to Michelle too ! May it fall with all blessings on all of us 🙂

    wassalam n Allahhafiz

  5. Eid Mubarak to you too!

When I was growing up in India, Eid was spelled in many ways – “Id,” “Idd,” Eid,” etc – based on the cards we received from family & friends. I remember prefering “Eid.” I’ve been wondering for years how this particular spelling came to be widely accepted. I’m sure there’s a Ph.D. thesis in this.

  6. Eid mubarak to you, Amber, and Michelle! May it be a beautiful, blessed day for you all. =)

As for Diwali, I’ve always thought of it as a Hindu tradition. Much to my surprise, I found out last night that Sikhs, as well as other Indian groups, celebrate it as well.

  7. Eid Mubarak.
Yea, with the exception of 2-3 small masjids in the Chicagoland area, most of us here are having Eid on Sunday…it’s Eid al-Adha that usually divides up the area here.

  8. Thanks, everyone for the Eid wishes. Hope you guys had a great Eid.

    thabet: religion and politics

    Good observation. 🙂

aslam: I don’t know. As far as I remember, I have seen “Eid” in Pakistan.
