Len Foote Hike Inn

In October, we usually head to North Georgia to hike, enjoy the nice weather and see some fall colors. This time we booked a room at the Len Foote Hike Inn which can only be reached by hiking 5 miles from the Amicalola Falls State Park. Here is our hike path from Amicalola Falls to… Continue reading Len Foote Hike Inn

Cohutta Wilderness

Getting to Cohutta Wilderness is not easy as you have to drive for more than 20 miles on unpaved roads and then there’s the issue of arranging cars so you can do a point-to-point hike. On the other hand, Lake Conasauga campground is beautiful and Cohutta Wilderness has a number of great hikes. We took… Continue reading Cohutta Wilderness

MLK Historic Site

Recently, my daughter suggested we visit Martin Luther King Jr Historic Site. Here are a few pictures from our visit.

Skiing

I took Michelle skiing for the first time in late January. Living in the South, the closest somewhat decent option was in West Virginia. So we drove 7 hours to Winterplace. Despite the warm weather, the conditions were decent enough. We had a lot of fun. Michelle loved it and is a better skier than… Continue reading Skiing

New Orleans

We visited New Orleans for the Christmas holidays. Here are some photos.

Bicycling on Alpharetta Greenway

Yesterday, the weather was nice. So we loaded up our bikes on the car and headed to the Big Creek Greenway. Michelle and I rode our bikes for about an hour. Here’s the trail map. The trail was crowded and it was a lot of fun.

Seventeen and Forty-One

This month we celebrated 17 years of our marriage. It’s been a long, great time. Also last week I turned 41. For my birthday, Amber and Michelle got me a bicycle, a Cannondale Quick 5 hybrid. And here I am, a long long time ago.

Smoky Mountains

Fall is the best season to go camping and hiking. And I love the fall colors you can see in the mountains. So once again we headed to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park a couple of weeks ago for some camping, riding, hiking and driving. We had three black bear sightings in the smokies… Continue reading Smoky Mountains

Nathiagali

We went to Nathiagali in the mountains (elevation: 7,900ft) to escape the heat in Islamabad. The weather was warm there but much nicer. We rode/hiked to Mushkpuri peak (elevation: 9,200ft) which was a lot of fun and had beautiful scenery. On our way back, we stopped in Bhurban.

Daman e Koh & Pir Sohawa

The almost seven year old wanted to hike up Margalla Hills but it was too hot. We drove up to Daman e Koh and then had dinner at Monal Restaurant in Pir Sohawa. Both places have a nice view of Islamabad.
