While I was up in Jersey, I watched a number of movies. Far from Heaven is a lacklustre film which did not provide much entertainment or food for thought. Y tu mamá también (And Your Mother Too) is a Mexican film in Spanish. It is a comedy of the American Pie genre, except it has… Continue reading Movies
If you are wondering why the posting recently has been sparse. Wonder no more. Spring semester winds up May 2. My teaching assistantship is more demanding work during the last month of the semester as the project is assigned and then graded in multiple steps. We usually break up the project into multiple steps so… Continue reading Miscellaneous
CalPundit has a ranking of the best movie nominees for Oscar. Since I have seen all of them as well, here’s my ranking: The Pianist The Hours Chicago Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers Gangs of New York CalPundit did not like The Pianist. I agree that the film does become a bit detached… Continue reading Best Movie
If you are wondering what I did over the weekend, wonder no more! On Friday, Amber and I went to Restaurant Serenade in Chatham, NJ for our Valentine’s day dinner. It’s a nice (and expensive) comtemporary French restaurant. The food was good, though I liked the food in France better. We also watched two movies… Continue reading Weekend Stuff

It shows the restrictions imposed by the Nazis on the Jewish population and their internment in the Warsaw ghetto. Szpilman’s family was sent to a concentration… Continue reading The Pianist
I haven’t had much time to blog for the past couple of days. Real LifeTM has intervened. Fall semester has ended and I have travelled home to New Jersey. Now, I have to run to see The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers.
We watched Harry Potter over the weekend. It’s a good movie, but I am not the target audience. Even though it runs to 2 hours and 40 minutes, it doesn’t feel overly long. This one also has more plot twists than the first Harry Potter movie. However, we liked the first one better.
We saw the latest Bond movie, Die Another Day, yesterday. Bond is always fun to watch. The plot is also crazy and impossible. There are lots of explosions and action. The villains are always personal enemies of Bond. And then are the women. This latest movie is definitely the best of the Pierce Brosnan Bond… Continue reading Die Another Day
Here are the movies we are planning to see over the thanksgiving weekend: Die Another Day: I have always been a fan of James Bond movies. They are basically mindless fun. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets: My wife likes Harry Potter.
